Never Daunted is situated in Hogsback on the slopes of the Amatolas. It has a beautiful garden overlooking the Hogsback mountains. Indigenous trees, shrubs and flowers form part of a densely planted garden paradise.
Hogsback is enchantingly beautiful during all seasons. There is the
lush green of summer, the spectacularly coloured leaves of autumn and the clear, crisp
days of winter with log fires for a companionable atmosphere. The sudden burst of new
growth, azaleas, rhododendrons and an abundance of flowers announce spring. The dense,
cool mists rolling down from the mountains give Hogsback that well-known mysterious
atmosphere.
The peace and tranquility ensures a memorable stay in truly unspoiled surroundings.
Inquisitive Samango monkeys, Knysna louries and many other bird species, which are
frequent visitors, add that special touch.

Rooms
We offer 4 cottages fully equipped for self-catering. All cottages are equipped with braai facilities and seating under shady trees.
Top Cottage
The top cottage is very secluded and offers as much privacy as could be required. It has 2 bedrooms; a spacious bedroom with a double bed and a fireplace and a small bedroom with a bunk bed. The kitchen is fully furnished with a microwave, fridge, electric stove, cooking utensils and cutlery. This cottage is ideal for a couple or a family with up to 3 children. Extra mattresses can be provided. Electric blankets are provided.
Samango cottage
The cottage has 1 bedroom with double bed on mezzanine floor. En-suite bathroom. Open plan lounge and kitchen with fireplace and is fully furnished with a microwave, fridge,electric stove, cooking utensils and cutlery. Electric blankets are provided.
Bottom cottage
The bottom cottage has 3 spacious bedrooms; one with a king size
bed, one with a double bed and one with two single beds. Electric blankets are for extra
warmth. The kitchen-dining room is fitted with a microwave, gas stove, fridge, cooking
utensils and cutlery. The lounge has a fireplace. Redwood cottage The cottage has 2 bedrooms; one with a double
bed and one with 2 single beds. Electric blankets are for extra
warmth. The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, stove, fridge, cooking
utensils and cutlery. The lounge has a fireplace. Very private
Activities
Never Daunted is ideally situated for forest walks leading
to beautiful waterfalls. Some of the hiking trails start at Red Coat Lane, the street
leading to Never Daunted. For the more adventurous the "Three Hogs" offers
climbs ranging from easy to challenging.
Hogsback offers pottery and art studios, horse riding, trout fishing, biotherapies and many more.
The natural beauty of Hogsback is a must for nature and bird lovers.
How to get there
From Alice (4 km outside Alice on the road to Kingwilliams Town), take the Cathcart via Hogsback turnoff (R345). Once in Hogsback, turn left into Red Coat Lane and follow the signs to number 6.
Clothing & Accessories
Raincoats and warm clothes are recommended. The weather can change quickly. Please bring own towels.
